New Sportsmanship Reporting System

BRCL is implementing a new Sportsmanship reporting system.  The sportsmanship scores that are recorded on the orange game card by the center referee are entered into each team’s match report by BRCL’s assistant scorekeeper.  The match report is available on each team’s schedule page by clicking on the game’s score.

Both the division and team schedule page standings will contain two columns.
1.  Sportsmanship Average (SP_AVG) – This is the average of three sportsmanship scores for all games as reported on the orange card.  The center referee reports three separate sportsmanship scores:   coaches, parents and players.  The sportsmanship scale is:
+2 = very good behavior, + 1= good,  0 = average,  -1 = below average behavior,  -2= bad behavior

2.   Sportsmanship Week (SP_WK) – This is the average three sportsmanship scores for the last game.

Note:  BRCL’s orange card utilizes a sportsmanship scale of 0, 1, 2, 3, 4.  For the Fall 2007 season, BRCL is subtracting 2 form the sportsmanship score.  Spring 2008’s orange cards will be adjusted to the +2 to -2 scale.

The Sportsmanship Reporting System is a new product and improvements in this system will occur during the fall season.
